Ok, so my dog chewed up my thermostat wiring to my condenser and I can't figure out how to wire it back up. I went to the local HD and bought more wire and came home thinking I would just splice it and be done. Well, it turned out not to be that straight forward. The thermostat wire is has two wires a red and a white. I went out to splice it and hook it up and noticed that there is only one wire coming out of the condenser, a yellow one. How the heck was this wired previously? Is only one of them supposed to be hooked up to it?
Thanks for you help

Take the door off the unit. Look at the contactor this is where the yellow wires should be going.

One wire must have come lose. You can hook either red or white to either one. Make sure to turn the breaker off.

I feel pretty stupid now, one of the wires broke off up in the unit. I temporarily reconnected the wires and it works now. I'll rewire permanently tomorrow.
Thanks for your help!
