I'd really appreciate some help. At issue is a charge for nerve conduction tests.
I was originally quoted a fixed fee, which I paid upfront. After the tests were finished, the neurologist increased his fee without any advance notice. I protested, and involved my own GP as intermediary. He obtained an agreement for the neurologist to finish the tests/report for no extra payment.
However, the neurologist subsequently went back on this agreement and, several months later, sent me a new bill.
My GP is willing to support me in my contention that I should not have incurred any extra payments beyond that originally quoted and paid.
The amount involved is relatively small ($206), but I don't think I should have to pay it. The neurologist is threatening to go to a collections agency to enforce payment.
Any advice?
Thanks.
