What are you thinking of SB ?
Unless the specs state Vista only then they will work with XP just fine as long as your machine is powerful enough.

Thanks for responding Ben,

What are you thinking of SB ? I have a Accer about 1 1/2 years oold that's running slow and something's boogered up in the registry that won't let me run Registry Mechanic or Reg. Booster. The Accer runs on the Vista platform while my older custom built runs on XP pro. The custom built's formatted with just XP installed.
I was thinking of loading the Vista files into the custom built and sending the Accer in for a tune up. Can this be done? Regards, tom

Well it depends on what your mean by "vista Files" .
I fthey are simply data then no worries at all.

Rather than spending money on a tune up, why not simply back up all the data and do a reinstall of Vista from recovery discs. I think Acer use a recovery partition on the hard drive itself, so physical CD's are not needed.

Ben,
I think my registry's all screwed up. Will formayting Vista take care of that. I was thinking of asking Scotty to pop in and look at my settings. Do you think that might be OK? Cheers, Tom

If the reg is knackered, the best course of action would be a complete rebuild.
