Communicate with him, that's the best way to get answers to your questions.
Also, I can't speak for everyone but guys don't pick up on subtle hints very well. We like pictures, with crayons and women telling us exactly what they say.
He probably thought the couch was more comfortable than the floor, so he let you sleep there. Also, I do my best not to wake up my fiancé if she's asleep because she's really is quite the devil if she doesn't get her sleep or is woken up when sound asleep.

Don't make him guess what's wrong and you don't guess what's wrong either.
Just confront him about the problem and figure it out TOGETHER.

I agree with the posts about communicating, but I also want to stress that you should not overthink the situation. Don't go into a conversation assuming the worst; let him open up to you, and don't ask him a bunch of questions that he cannot immediately answer.
Keep the pressure off, but still be productive :)

I agree. It really sucks when you get a million questions all at once. You feel like your being pushed into a corner. And it's not a good feeling. Solve one question one problem at a time.

Just talk to him and see how he feels, it may just be that he wants to chillax a little bit because he has a bit of strees. Venting will help this. If he isn't much of a talker be romantic. Don't do sexual romance because that creates pressure. Cook him a mel before he gets in and have a candlelit dinner ready. If you make the candles, even better. This is bound to cheer him up and get him talking. But don't doubt if he loves you. If he says he does then trust him. Show him how much he means to you. :)

How old are you, and how long have you been together? I assume you live with his mother, or she with you.

First are you living with his mom, or just visiting.
Next OK, guys may stay up dozens of nights, watching TV, playing games and esp talking to their mom or friends.
If he was not going to bed why did you not, why did y ou not make the bed on the floor ( and I have to ask is this where you always sleep ?)
So if there are issues, talk directly about them , no hints, no he should just know, be direct.
And in the end if you are living with the mother, and sleeping on the floor, why? Who is working and you both need to get your own place
