My washer drains into my sump and the sump is wearing out too fast. Like every 2 years I would like to know if I can change the drain from the washer to go somewhere else like up into the wall drain. I have a pedestal sump and it just stopped working. Now my floor is full of water can I fix the pump or should I do something else. I also kept the old sump in the garage

You have two problems. Why did your sump pump quit working? Impeller clogged with fiber from the washer? Motor windings burned out from too much use? If I can't be repaired install the old sump pump.
Now on to your washer. Tell me more about this "wall drain". Where's it located and what does it drain into? Your washer pump will pump up to 8 feet so discharging overhead whould be no problem. But I need more information before I can comment farther. Regards, Tom

You will get a lot more life out of your pump if you switch to a low sudsing detergent.
