I recently installed a radiator on a 1995 chevy monte carlo 6 cylinder 3.1 engine, however I am not sure if I installed it correctly, my low coolant sensor light is always on, but the coolant lever is full. Also my temperature gage is not moving all the way to the middle it seems that my vehicle is not getting hot so my fans are not coming on, I also smell a strong odor of antifreeze. I know that my low coolant sensor is fairly new so I do not believe that I have a bad sensor.

If anyone has an answer to this question please let me know. Thank you.

Check for the coolant level sensor being transferred into the replacement radiator and that the connector is reattached.

Thank you captain Rich, now what is the replacement radiator? And what do you mean by the connector being reattached? What connector?

The replacement radiator is the one that you installed - it "replaced" the old one.

The low coolant sensor has an electrical plug which is how it sends and receives information. Make sure that the connector was plugged back in when you reassembled the vehicle.

There's also a possibility that there's still air trapped in the system. What led you to replace the radiator to begin with?

The old radiator was leaking.. I did bleed the radiator when I installed it.. also the sensor is connected the to the electrical plug but there is a u shape ring that I did not put back on the sensor because when I was trying to put it on it slipped out of my fingers and lost it around the motor trapped somewhere..
