ABout 6 months ago, I was working and had swallowed wrong, and my throat had closed up and I couldn't breathe. It didn't last long, and it eventually became normal after a minute or so... seemed like hours to me! My co workers said I had gotten so red they were ready to call 911.
Since that time, and only since then, I have had similar reactions on about 5 occasions. It happened when I ate chocolate and metled in my mouth. It also happens VERY briefly when something goes down accidentally like rice. The last time it happened, I was eating a granola bar with chocolate in it, and my throat started to close. I stood up, spit it out, and my throat went back to normal. There was chocolate in that bite. But there have been several times I have eated chocolate and nothing happens at all.
Any thought?
