Hi,

I am growing African Daisies in pots. I live in a hot country and water them once a day. I notice that the lower leaves turn brown and fall off. The plants are becoming quite leggy. It gets quite windy too

Any tips? I really love these flowers

Thanks

Could be too much water or direct sunlight. Try moving them to indirect sunlight first. Leggy usually means not enough fertilizer.

Well that's it then... too much sunlight. They are in direct sun which is exactly why I bought them. I live in the Middle East so the sun is unavoidable. I could move them to the back of the house but the point in buying them was to have some flowers in the front. I will move one of them tosee if there is a huge difference. Pity, they were doing so well before the sun got fierce.

Interesting, I have more of these which are exposed to even more sun, they are thriving, but are in much bigger pots

Thanks for help

If you have them in pots, you may want to invest in an actual african daisy pot. These are pots in pots and they hold water. A Daisies like consistent moist soil and these pots deliver just what the plants need. You can also fertilize continuously, too.
They love indirect bright light and consistent temperatures, too.
You may already know this, but don't get the leaves wet. They don't like that at all.
Good luck! While very picky little plants, these are one of my favorites!

Ruth,

Thanks a mil. No I didn't know about not getting the leaves wet. I will follow that advice straightaway. I have never seen an African Daisy pot - we don't have such things in the Middle East!

Many thanks
