Offender was charged with mistermeanor for receiving was put on probation until restition was made of almost 7,600. He has been in county jail for violation for almost 6 months,he's done the pride program,is working in the kitchen at the jail the last coulpe of months.He knows he can get good time,but wants to know if the sentencing can be suspended so he can go to the Army,he wants a knew start in his life and want to take the sign on money to pay the resition is there a way to do this?

I don't think the scenerio you are putting forth in your question would fly with the judge. Basically, the sign on money is not paid up front so that won't work. And secondly, the judge would want the amount paid in full before any "favors" are asked.

He needs to get out of jail first before he can start asking for favors or anything else for that matter. And yes, working in the kitchen can get you good time but most of the time the good time is determined by the judge. It is also a good way to build self esteem while in jail as well even he he doesn't earn any good time. And also it is another way to get out of your cell or pod atmosphere and feel like a real human and not some caged animal.

If he was out of jail and paying on the amount, then the judge may work with him ( assuming the army will take him, he will have to get a waiver from them)
