I'm a resident alien who just got arrested for my 4th DUI. I'm thinking about not going to court and leaving for the country I came from. I have no other crime other than the DUI's. Would the United States try to come after me? No one was injured or killed in any of my cases.

You are lucky no one was killed if you were driving drunk. What WERE you thinking to do that. I see no reason why you should get off scott free after FOUR DUIs. If I knew your name, address and phone number you wouldn't be running away from anything. They do have your license number, you were arrested. I think there is a pretty good chance you would be apprehended. At least I hope so.

I hope they are able to come after you.

Yes, by all means go back to where you came from and stop endangering american lives.

I do doubt they will come after you. Depending on your immigration status, they might just deport you. But then your country might not take you back. So run before that happens.

I find it absolutely APPALLING that the OP was able to drive again after even two DUIs. Don't your states have mandatory rules ? We have strict rules in Ontario regarding DUI offenders. They don't get their license back in most cases. Hefty fines in the thousands, hopefully deterring them from re-offending. Some NEVER GET THEIR LICENSE BACK IF IT IS VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER. It has been proven that driving ability is hampered even after one or two glasses of wine or beer.

DUI laws vary from state to state. The enforcement of them may even vary from county to county. A car is necessary to earn a living in many areas, so confiscating a vehicle may not be an option. And there is no way to put a sign on someone that flashes their DUI record. That's why multiple offenders are hard to deal with.

That's also why I recommend the OP flee. Let him be someone else's problem.

I agree with Scott. Go back to where you came from. We have enough idiots here, we don't need you.

Four DUIs? What were you thinking. Go kill someone in your own country.

Would the United States try to come after me?Hello I:

A warrant will be put out for you. If they catch you, they'll bring you back to try and sentence you. After you've done your time, they'll deport you.

If you leave now before a court date you will be able to leave this country. If you wait until the court date and don't show up there will be a bench warrant out for you and you won't be able to leave this country.

By all means PLEASE go back where you came from. We have enough drunks on the highways here killing people, we don't need one more to help out the already horrible statistics of drunk drivers on the roads.
