We live in NJ, my dad had some credit card debt but he's no longer in the country. I recently got a court summon for him. I returned it to the court - just told them he no longer live here without mentioning our relationship. I want to know if he ever return to the States, would he has problem entering? He's collecting social security right now. $500 per month, no other money at all, would they be able to take away his social security check? My parents divorced 22 years ago but they owned an apartment in NY. The apartment was under both of their names until 3 years ago, it was being transferred to under my mom's name only. Will they chase after that apartment? Please advise. Thanks!

They will get a judgement since he is not here to defend hisself.

They may get a lien on the apartment, I doubt it, but it is possible
