Dear all,
I have a new printer(HP LASERJET 1022N) which I want to connect it through LAN so that every user in the network can use it, tell me how shoud I give ip to the printer.or what will be the procedure to connect the printer.

Assume you are using xp
Click on printer icon in control panel and the printer should be listed there.
Right click on the printer and choose sharing, make sure Share printer is selected
Also make sure you go into windows firewall in control panel and go to the exceptions tab and make sure the File and Print Sharing is checked there as well.
On other PC's in LAN, click on printers icon and choose Add Printer and choose LAN or Network Printer and it will search for printers that are shared in the LAN - If found, choose that printer and follow screen instructions to install

I don't want to share this printer, I want this printer to be a network printer with his own IP address.

Automatically it takes the ip address other wise it takes you are system lan ip. You simple assign you are lan ip.
