Hi, I have a briggs 17.5 I/C OHV eng. That will not turn over past compression stroke.
New batt, good wireing and starter, I read this site and have found it may be the
Valve adjustment. I checked the valve lash and it is way out around .015. Started
Ajusting it in and it stops, it acts like it is out of threads on the rocker shaft?
Is there something I am missing or maybe something else wrong. Oh I'am ajusting them
While both valves are up, both rockers are loose. The engine does turn great when the
Spark plug is out. The engine is 3yrs old little use. Thanks

Well I went back outside and looked at it again after dinner, found that the rocker nuts have torx set screw in them that will give you the adjustment you need. I adjusted both valves to .005 and it started right up. Excellent!!
