Okay by now everybody is wondering what the @#! Is the question. Am I right!

Seriously now, when talking about death and dying. A lot of questions come up whether to be buried or cremated. Does anybody no what any religion, or The Christian bible says about this aspect of death.

There are some people that believe when Christ returns and we are awakened for judgement that our bodies will be raised from the grave. Yet, my question is if this does happen what about people who were cremated?

So what does the Bible say as well? Should we just be buried or cremated.

Honestly, and you must be thinking to yourself why does a young person concern himself/herself to questions of whether to be buried or cremated. It has been on my mind at times. Just saw a question that made me think about it again.

It is a struggle. To be buried or cremated.

What are you thoughts on this. Thank you in advance.

You are right. I do not see a religious connection at all. And generally, neither do most Christian groups.

The bible is silent on this matter.

If it was an issue, then we'd have to wonder what consequence would be to the soul of a person who dies in a fire...

For me it is no issue at all. I don't care what happens to my body after I die... but no doubt I'll be buried in one of my or my wife's family burial areas just because "it seems the thing to do".

Thank you for your answer Rick. Quite honestly though I have always had that thought in the back of mind. Or that debate and to me I do see it as a religious choice.

Good point about somebody who dies in a fire. Thank you for your answer again. Never looked at it that way.

For those that believe that their bodies will be resurected, they must believe in some sort of restoration along with it. Unless they believe they will just be walking skeletons. Due to that, I would assume the same restoration would become those who have been cremated, burned, smashed, etc.

The body is of no importance it's the personality that counts. Those with the heavenly reward will be given spirit bodies but their personalities will remain intact. Those with the earthly reward on a paradise earth whose bodies have turned to dust will be resurrected with the same personalities with which they died but also with new bodies. This includes the cremated.

There are Christians who believe that Jesus' earthly body was consumed and he was raised as a spirit person with the ability to materialize. Of course some believe him to have come back with the same body. But that would not have been in harmony with the foreshadowing of the sacrifices of animals which were totally consumed. Sparing their consumption would have been tantamount to offering a sacrifice and then taking it off the alter whole which=no sacrifice at all.

I find the issue of the resurrection of aborted fetuses and the nearly born,
or of those who perish shortly after birth much more difficult to understand since there is virtually very little to work with in terms of personality restoration.

In ancient Israel those who were cremated via being thrown into the public incinerator, Gehenna were those deemed unworthy of a resurrection.
