Hello,
If I am not in the right forum, please accept my apologies, and feel free to move this thread.
Ok, so I found out that GA. Is a one-party consent state for recording conversations. As me, and my Ex fiancé are having lots of problems now living together as roomates, because we had broken up, I have been recording the conversations between me, and her, and of course I consent to the recordings. She is not aware that I am recording. Question is, can any of it be used legally? In court? Even just between the family, and maybe even lawyers to resove the money/property issues? Basically, she lies about everything, but if I have the proof recorded, can I use it at all, with anyone at all?

Mostly it depends on how the " proof " is presented. If you are baiting the person your talking to or pushing buttons to get a preprogramed response then its won't be worth anything.

Good question. Believe it or not, I put a lot of questions in Google when I cannot afford an attorney, and I usually run into my answers or at least close to them.

Or, you can call down the yellow pages under family law in your state and see if one of the attorneys will be nice enough (and/or can afford) to give you a free consultation about the answers to your questions.

Good Luck!
