Okay, so I've had my period for 16 days now. I've been to the Dr. he thinks its normal and will stop on its own. This is my 2nd period after being off Depo for 8 months now (last acutal shot in June 08, last shot due in August 08), no other form of BC. I am going to be trying to get pregnant sometime and I guess what I'm wondering is when would I ovulate. My Dr. told me I would still ovualte once I stopped bleeding but my husband works out of town and I'm trying to do some planning. Just wondering what others think on this issue and ideas. Would it still be 6-10 days after the bleeding stops or would it only be a few days. Not sure if this would make next months period later or if it's stay the same.

Hello :)

I know how concerning this can seem. Ive been through it. But it is a normal side effect of the depo shot. It can take 6-9 months after stopping depo that your menstral cycles normalize again. You may also experience very heavy, brownish periods as well.

I would advise seeing your doctor since you have been on your period so long. This can cause other problems all on its own.
