I have st.bernard puppies. One of the pups is a runt. It is less than half the size of his brothers and sisters. I have been nursing him every 2 to 3 hrs around the clock. He will be one week old tomorrow. Does anyone know what his chances of survival are?
Thanks.

You don't even wonder what his chances are. You assume that he has the best chance ever of surviving. You give him the best chances he will ever have.
What do you want someone to say. No chance at all ? And then what would you do ? I would never say that.

Greetings and WELCOME to the site, tinalourob! I just moved your question out of Introductions to this forum topic area so that it will get the most exposure to those who are able to answer it the best. Introductions is for people to introduce themselves only and we try to not ask questions there. Your question will get noticed much more in this forum topic area.
I do note that you received one response already while your question was in Introductions.
We would appreciate it if you would return to Introductions to tell us a little more about yourself, if you would be willing to do that.
Thanks!

We can't give you a definite. He has as much chance as your other pups.
If they are born of a healthy mother that had excellent prenatal care and if the mother was tested for genetic defects as well as the father, before breeding, and given the utmost in care, then the puppies chances are very good.
If none of these conditions have been met then they may survive only to fall upon bad health later in life.
I have to ask, do you have a breeders license?
