I will be renting a trailer to move across country. (San Fran to Atlanta) I will be using a Honda Civic Hatchback to tow the trailer, moving about a studio apartments worth of stuff. I will be taking the southern route so there will be less hills than the northern route. I've never done this before and I am wondering how slowly I will have to drive and how long it will take to get across country and also, if there is anything else I need to consider. I am guessing that I will likely drive about 55 - 60 MPH and it will take about 6 days.

Any thoughts or feedback appreciated!

Also, the reason I am renting a trailer rather than renting a truck and towing my car is that it costs about $2,400 more to rent a truck than a trailer!

I am assuming you already have a trailer hitch on your car, and if not, have you checked to see if you can put one on it with a class heavy enough to tow the trailer.
