Hello,

I do really need a good advice how to get rid of orange shade of my dyed hair. My natural haircolor is dark ash blond and I wanted to get light ash blond so I bought a color at a store that said "extra ash blond", expecting nice white sandy blond. But!! I am light orange! I went to salon to have fixed it by using white hightlights in it, but it did not go white but yellow! I am neutralising this ugly yellow shade with Loreal shampoo anytime I wash my hair and even it works on those hightlights it does not neutralise that stupid orange tone in rest of my hair. What color should I put on it to get nice dark blond without risking to be green? Thanks a lot.

If your hair is orange then you will need to use a blue-base hair coloring product to neutralize it. When you use box colors, you won't get the exact color on the box. You will most likely end up with unwanted tones such as orange, red and green. Your hair is currently orange and yellow, and if you attempt to color it yourself, it will make matters worse. You should consider going to the salon and have a hairstylist do a corrective color on your hair.

Thank you for your advice Pretty Lady. I will make an appoitment at the salon and I hope they will be able to fix it so I can look normal again. :) Of course ,I will see another salon as hairstylist from the salon I went for highlights said that no color will lift or cover that orange disaster I had on my hair. That is why she put just highlights on it as only way of fixing my hair color. But the result was still bad - yellow strands all over my head with orange base. I was then thinking of doing it on my own with some color but you are absolutely right that it may get worse. Oh, well. Thank you again and have a nice day. Lucia
