Yesterday I did not have any water pressure, I checked pressure tank it was empty. I filled pressure tank to correct air pressure. Well pump is a 50-30 It is cutting on at 30 psi but then cutting off at 40 psi, one min. later cutting back on and cutting off at 50-55 psi.When no water faucets are open. If something is open it cuts on at 30 psi and off at 40 psi the cycles back to cut on at 30 psi. I have noticed more sediment than usual but I am not sure if this is from the low pressure or from my well. The pressure tank seams to be holding pressure now. Don't know what to check or tackle next any help is appriciated.:confused:

Had similar problem. Replaced pressure control valve.

Set pressure tank air at 28psi ( 2 psi lower than pcv turn on).

By pressure control valve are you talking about the pressure switch, I replaced it last night and set the air tank to 28 and still same problem. Or are you talking about the in line pressure check valve?

Sorry for the confusion. Pressure control valve/pressure switch. If problem still exists, it is beyond my knowledge. Someone will be along to help u out.

I replaced the pressure switch , and the pressure tank keep leaking down so I replaced it. After that the pump keep cutting on at 30 off at 40, 1 min later back on and off at 50. Someone told me the pump was overheating. So I replaced it. Everything did fine for about a day then the pump did not cut on(no water) as soon as I primed the switch(reset) it filled back up. About 24 hrs later it did it again. And again as soon as I flipped the switch, water. I'm out of ideas, someone told me it might be a wire short, but I thought it would trip my breaker, not cut the pump on.

I suspect you are running your well dry. Once the pump can no longer pump, pressure will fall below a set level. When that happens, the switch will shut down as a precaution against burning up the pump. That is when you have to reset the switch. If you had wiring problems, it would trip the breaker or not work at all.

I don't think it is my well I have 175' of storage.

Pressure should be 31#, but that is not your problem. Is this a submersible pump?

Yes it is a submersible pump(a new one) the old one was cutting on 30 off 40 back on and off 50 new one is doing right as far as that goes. Just not cutting on every now and then.:(

I'll make a prediction. Let your system stand idle for several hours. Next, open a faucet wide open and let it run. Watch your pressure gauge. I'm going to guess your pump will cycle properly a few times, then you will see the pressure start to fall until it gets around bottom. During that process, the switch's safety feature will trip (the little lever on the side). If that happens, then it is pretty good evidence that the pump is using the stored water above it until it runs out. Your well is not able to keep up with your demand. In a few hours, it "refills" the reserve capacity and you are in business again for a while.

Just my guess at it.

The thing that I question is Sunday when it first happened wife had washed 5 loads of clothes and I fiqured ran out of storage but the next day when it happed 24 hours later no one had been home all day and it happened as soon as she started a load of clothes.

Blue, it just seems that everything you have is new. The symptoms would seem to point to a well problem. Try my little test as described above and get back with me.
