Please can someone help me... I need to know how to remove the immobilizer on my Rover 1589 CC. I think there is something wrong with the little fob as it randomly works every now and then, but I had to leave it at a supermarket last night as the immobilizer wouldn't stop, I tried it for 3 hours and it just wouldn't work. I read somewhere that I will have to remove it and send it off but I have no idea where it is located and how to remove it. Also if I remove it will it alowe me to start the engine! Please help... I'm very desperate!

Many Thanks.

Joanne

I don't think it's possible. Make sure it's not your key.

The "Key in ignition" switch has to work.

Methods for "removing the immobilizer" requires a key placed in a special box that relays the signal to the car's computer. I believe there is a transducer that needs to be placed by the ignition switch.

This technically isn't removal, but bypassing and the immobilizer system must work.

It's used for installs of remote start systems.
