I've been looking for information on Spanish Nobility Marriages to those of English peerage in the late Georgian era.

Were woman of lower Spanish Nobility able to marry those of English peerage like a Earl or Baron?

If they were did they have to bring wealth to the table in order for the marriage to be accpeted?

May there be any books I may be able to read on this matter as well?

Thank you for your time!

The georgian era was early l700 to mid l800. Would have been nearing the end of the napoleonic war. I don't see any real connection between Britain and Spain during this time.

Marriages between english peerage and spanish nobility would have been obscure at best.

Thank you!
But marriage would still be possible around this time?

Of course marriage would still be possible around that time. Sometimes they married to increase their fortune, or to acquire a title.

Hm~ how would they be wed? With one from spain and another from england? Would they have to be held under the banns?

Sorry for all the questions, am working on some research at the moment
Thank you for all your help!

I imagine that crossing the English channel from Dover to Calais, and then a coach to Spain solved the problem of meeting. I don't know about post the banns but Spanish brides would have to do that because they were catholic and English were not, but if money was involved, and money talks, then that obstacle could have been surmounted quite easily.

ranearia, why don't you Google anything you want to find out. Google takes the most oblique topics and turns them into websites that you couldn't imagine for information on any topic. Try it. And I wish you luck. YOu will probably find out more in Google then you will from me !

Best regards
