I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but I just have a question. Is it true that if a guys is addicted to porn that he can develop sexual urges towards little girls?

In my opinion no. However many hardcore religious peoples would differ.
There has been cases where a pedophile says that they started watching porn which led to other curiosities which brought them to who they are now.
Remember: it's not porn that is the problem it's the person.

No, never heard of such a thing. What type of porn is he watching?
I watch porn and it doesn't make me want to sleep with little boys. Only a sick twisted person would want to do such a thing.

I was just curious. I heard it from somewhere and I just wanted to know if it was true.

Really you have to be sick in the head to become a child molester or a pedophile. It's something that is in that person that just isn't right.
Just because you watch porn doesn't mean you'll become one of those sick people. You have to have some major unresolved issue to even come to that point.
I believe that the pedophiles that have blamed it on porn are using it as a poor excuse for their disgusting behavior and mental status.

Pedophilia is a mental disorder. I think its wrong that they act on their fantasies. I am no way making excuses for them, but if they don't do anything then we can't really say they are sick.. yes their thoughts are. But the person isn't. I do happen to know someone who suffers from this. But I do know that he would never do anything.

Ha! I am sorry to burst your bubble but that is being sick!
If you are in any way thinking of harming a child like that, day dreaming about having any sort of sexual contact with them you are sick.
I'm sure many many many parents would agree with me on this one.

I do agree that it is sick. But people with this disorder can't control their thoughts. Yes they can control what they do about them. They can get help and... well control themselves. I agree that anyone who harms a young child because of this is disturbed and needs help.

Just because they have a disorder doesn't mean it is okay. Ever.

There was a guy who spoke to some people around campus here a few weeks ago. He spoke about his addiction to porn saying he became desensitized so he had to look at more intensee things. He wound up nearly becoming a pedophile and a necrophiliac but wound up being "saved." This was his testimonial. I'm not saying I believe it, but I understand that if people start getting desensitized, I can see how porn can help it start up. I do agree that people have the control to make themselves into what they become. It's always a choice of how you react. I guess unless you have terets... I suppose

Never put nothing past nobody. You don't know what this person might or might not do. Since the thoughts are already in his head you never know when he is going act on his urges. I hope he is getting counseling and isn't around little kids.

I never said it was OK. I am not protecting them or standing up for them at all. There are these sites that just make me so sick I want to get rid of them, but I have contacted many places reporting them as child porn but nothing I did would get them off. Its preteen models. They take these really young girls and put them in bikinis that are way to small and putting them in disgusting positions. If pedophiles view these pictures, I believe that these pictures will increase the risk of them doing something to someone else. If anyone knows how I can get these sites removed. Please let me know

liz28 he sees a counselor. And he isn't like other pedophiles, its not something that is like in his head all the time or anything like that. Its just something that pops into his head when he sees a younger girl. But beyond that he doesn't think about it. I'm very close to this person.

Unfortunately the internet is a free world. If there is a child pornography site the best you can do is report it-- however as for suggestible poses and such well they aren't really showing much-- it's just "posing"-- you could start ranting about it but look at most pageant moms and how they've "whored" their children out.
It's disgusting and twisted.

They increases the risk on their own.
This thread have run it course and at risk for being removed. I suggest you start a new thread regarding "how to get the site removed" in the members forum. That is the best place.

Sadly I've heard that these preteen modeling sites are legal, as with lolicon. I don't understand why america would allow this stuff. I really don't. I saw a game on the news a few weeks ago called RapeLay, it's a japanese game that allows you to rape women and kids. Its nasty. And I can't believe america allows this. I really do want to do something about it, but I cant..

I don't know I just threw out that thought.
Where I lived I see 5 years old dressed like adults. They have on their ultra minskirts, tan tops, 3 inch heels, they have a pocket book and all. I isn't lying. I don't understand what parent would let their child dress like that let alone buy their child those sort of clothes. I guess they think it is cute but it isn't.
My child would never wear clothes like that. Her skirts come to her kness or longer and it is still fashionable but and she looks like she suppose to-a child.
It is ashamed that they make the shorts super short but again I don't buy her those sort of clothes. Most of my daughte clothes are homemade because I make them and make them to my liking. But it ashame that I have to really shop around because most of the clothes in the children stores are too short.

Lots of people with addiction disorders blame their addiction on the substance rather than change themselves. It's a rationalization, not an excuse. Meth, nicotine, caffeine, pornography, sex, chocolate... addictions require treatment. Pedophiles rationalize their illness just like every other addict.

I came back. Yea liz28 I saw this little girl the other day, she couldn't of been older that 5, her skirt was so short that her butt was hanging out the back. I'm like wow, who would let their daughter go out in something like that. Its great that you don't let your child dress this way. When I have kids they will never go out in public dressed with something like that.

Addiction to porn may or may not create a problem. What sort of pornography, If you mean child pornography, then yes the person is a pedophile and is addcited to child porn-that puts ANY child near that individual as a potential victim.
If the addiction is to older women in the pornographic material, then yes, the older woman is a potential victim etc. etc.
Either way, pornographic addiction creates an unreal viewpoint about the people starring in the scene, (Now I'm going to make a generalisation here) i.e. most porn promotes a woman as "wanting sex-even against her will" just like child porn shows children in sexual activities way beyond their level of maturity and they are being ABUSED. Therefore an addict will form an opinion that children having sex "like that" "enjoy that, and it is good forthem " etc. A SICK INTERPRETATION OF REALITY.
So depending on the TYPE of pornography, it could make children vulnerable.

There was a guy who spoke to some people around campus here a few weeks ago. He spoke about his addiction to porn saying he became desensitized so he had to look at more intensee things.
We go around and around here about porn "good" or "bad"...
But some desensitization is actually common throughout a persons life...
The bus ride to school used to give steel piercing erections. Who knew a nun bus driver hitting every bump and pothole could do that to a teen? Even the slightest peek at a girls bra strap could get blood flowing. Over time, most of us have some desensitization.
Think about how just the anticipation of sex could get you tied into knots when you were first experimenting. Not saying I cannot get aroused just thinking about it, but there was some level of intensity that was somewhat lost over time, with experience.
Likewise, I think some who use porn can become desensitized and need more, or different forms, to keep pushing the edge.
Now... we have members here who have used visual erotica for years and haven't fallen down the "slippery slope" that some worry about.
So... I don't believe for one moment that watching porn must lead one to become a pedophile, as the OP asked.
That said... a person predisposed to alcoholism or addiction probably shouldn't work in a bar, and may not know this until its too late...

KP, you have a great way of analyzing things. Thumbs up!

Desensitation can lead you to want to do more things such as committing the act. But this fact in no way makes an excuse for you to do these things. I'm not saying everyone will end up like this. But I figure some people may grow into this with the help of desensitivity. And once they get to this point, they should probably stop if it's going to cause them to be further tempted. One must know their own limits. If you believe something is causing you to become something, then why would you keep doing it? Only you control what you become.

Fuzzy, I guess they watch it because it is there and use it an excuse.
It is sort of like a person playing a video game and acts out the scene and when they get in trouble they say "well I saw it in so and so video game" then the media starts to blame the game. Give me a break! It fake for crying out loud. But some people are quick to poing the finger at the other person instead of blaming themselve.

I know. It's too easy a thing to do. Like when I'd get in trouble for hitting my sister when I was small... Because she hit me first!
Ah silly humans.. When will they learn? :)

Simple answer is NO...
Pedophiles need have NO addictions to anything. They just have a perverted sexual attraction to prepubescent children of either sex. There were LOTS of Pedophiles around long before any of the modern forms of porn existed. There were Peophiles around in ancient times... likely since mankind still lived in caves.

This is no longer answering the question, in my opinion---and we have several people responding whom I suspect of being underage.
