I have been getting e-mails from someone who has the use of my e-mail address. How can that happen? Her e-mails list her actual name and e-mail address (mine). How can I clear up this situation and keep my own e-mail which I have had for years, and not have the fear that someone is getting my e-mails. Of course, since I have free AOL mail, AOL won't help with the problem.

This appears to be a case of "spoofing", but I'm not positive. Do you know this person?
Are you getting e-mails with your e-mail address as the return address, or are you simply getting e-mails from someone that you don't want to get e-mails from?

I don't know this person. But the e-mail says it comes from me. It doesn't give her address.

Contact your e-mail provider and ask about suggestions
Changing your logon password for your email account may help
Also run some type of malware program to possibly detect and remove anything that may assist in someone getting your personal info
Here is link to Malwarebytes, you can download/install and use for free without purchase, Let it scan your PC and let it remove anything it finds

I'm a bit confused here. What are these e-mails she is sending you? Why would someone send something to themselves?
I agree that this is probably a case of spoofing, but without seeing the headers of the e-mail its hard to say.

I had the same thing happen to me a couple of weeks ago- someone sent emails from my account to my contact list yet nothing showed up in my sent file or in my trash- weird. I changed my password and it cleared up the problem.
