My Goodman heat pump, model GSH130361AD, heat does not switch on (outer unit). When it first went out, the Honeywell T8411R t-stat digital display went blank. First, I tried replacing the stat with other, but they only accommodated 5 wires. Wiring to the Honeywell was 7 wires. I'll come back to this later.
Next, I found out the fuse on the air handler circuit board was blown. I replaced the 3W fuse and then tried to rewire the Honeywell t-stat.
After wiring the Honeywell stat, the air handler and aux heat would kick on and heat the house to the set temperature. However, the outside unit (compressor) would never kick in... ever. Also, I tried the AC and it blew the 3W air handler fuse.
None of the breakers were affected, either on the air handler or the main panel. There is no separate breaker on the outside unit.
My latest wiring on the Honeywell t-stat:
Stat Marking-Wire Color
G-Green
C-Blue
R-Red
Y-Yellow
W2-White
B-Black
O-Orange
Wires to Air handler
Color (markings on circuit board, if any)
Green
Brown/Black
Blue (C)
Red (R)
White
Wires from house to outside unit
Color (unit terminal marking)
Blue (C)
Red (R)
White (W2)
Orange (O)
Yellow (Y)
IS MY WIRING ON THE STAT CORRECT?
Lastly, I found no reset switch on the outside unit. Read that the capacitor (the silver canister?? ) may have burnt out. SHOULD I CHECK IT? HOW?
ANY IDEAS? MANY THANKS!
