Can someone please help me with this combination of wires? I am trying to change out ceiling fans in my living room.
From ceiling box I have: a black wire, and a white wire, and no ground
From the fan w/ light kit I have: a black wire, white wire, and a black w/ while stripe wire, and no ground
Do I attach the three black wires and the two whites? Don't I need to have some type of ground wire?
It is a Hunter ceiling fan if that helps.
Thanks!

You ceiling box tells me this box was controlled by a single switch and now you will likely new a double switch or a remote, what is you plan. The fan black goes to ceiling black as white goes to white. The black with stripe is the hot lead for the light and it too goes to the black. However unless you go with a second switch or remote this will be unsatisfactory since both light and fan will come on together. Back to you for your plan

Can't I just use the two pull chains at the fan to control the fan and light separately?
The previous homeowners had a fan with light kit at the same box and you just had to adjust at the chains.

Yes you can continue to use the opull chains to control the fan and the light.

We have two black wires and two white wires coming out of the ceiling and one black wire and one striped black and white wire and one white wire coming out of ceiling fan. We connected the ceiling fan and now the switch on wall also turns off my clock radio plugged into another totally different wall plate and not connected to the ceiling wiring or so we thought. Which wires go together from ceiling wires to fan wires?
