I have a friend who hasn't put the name of her child father on the birth cirtifcate and she wants to know if she can have her fiance's name put on the birth cirtifcate since the child's father has nothing to do with her.

I don't believe your allowed to do that. And just saying if your marriage doesn't work out you can't collect child support from the real father.

You should check the family law board. There are a lot of threads with regards to this question. I believe in some states you can actually be arrested for doing this. If the father ever chose to contest it she could get in a lot of trouble. Again, in some states, he would only have a certain amount of time to contest it.
