I can't believe that John McCain stated the long-ago debunked theory that 9/11 terrorists entered the U.S. through Canada! I thought he was one of the more intelligent members of the GOP. I would expect this kind of nonsense from Rush Limbaugh, but it was sad to hear it from McCain. I hope that most Americans are smart enough to know that the 9/11 terrorists all entered the U.S. and trained there with valid U.S. visas. Let us please put this garbage to rest once and for all. What makes this more maddening is that I think they know deep down it is false, yet they just want to blame Canada because they don't want to admit they screwed up. Someone should remind them that Canada is the U.S.'s largest trading partner and largest supplier of gas and oil and there are plenty of other countries who would be more grateful.

Meh. Really. Meh.
It doesn't matter if they came from Canada or not, in the end the US let them in. The event still happened, no matter where they came from, it's sad but true.
Politicians wouldn't be politicians if stupid things didn't come out their mouths.
That's my take.

As stupid as McCain's comment was (which echoed our moronic DHS secretary Napalitano's comment), I don't think McCain was "blaming" Canada. It didn't matter where they came from, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

How about putting blame where it belongs, the terrorists. Really, no one else is to blame for what happened that day.

I think anyone that follows me in the least knows my thoughts about Islamist scumbag terrorists... I'm anything but a blame America liberal like those representing us in the current administration.
Nevertheless, we didn't stop them from coming in. Whose responsibility was it to prevent their entry? Our security failed, plain and simple. As our Canadian friends reminded us after both Napalitano and McCain's remarks, "They flew to major U.S. airports. They entered the U.S. with documents issued to them by the U.S. government."
If we gave them the papers to get here who else can we blame for them getting in the country? That was the subject of the remarks, not the attacks themselves.

First Napolitano and now McCain. It just shows the disconnect the career politician has from reality .
McCain will be hopefully
"primaried " (Go Chris Simcox! ) and his long career will come to a conclusion.
He is part of the open border wing of the Republicans ,and his efforts here is to divert attention from the real problem we have at the southern border.
Before the campaign MCCain was a darling of the left media because he was a contrarian who crossed the aisle to take on his own party so often .
Then during the campaign ;since he was the flag bearer for the Republicans he was an aged senile Bush clone according to the same press. Now that he lost, he is back to being a favored source .
Canadians should give him a pass since he was the candidate who actually favored trade with Canada. Our current President doesn't .
Although technically true that none of the 9-11 terrorists entered the US through Canada ,I'm sure you are familiar with Ahmed Ressam.
He planned to bomb LA International Airport ,but was stopped with the bomb in his car by US INS (one of the agents who aren't afraid to do their job)after having successfully crossed from Victoria Canada to Port Angeles Washington.
I hope you are not denying that you have a problem with jihadists cells in Canada . The problem is not if they crossed the border .The problem is that both our countries allow these scum into the country in the 1st place.
