I got a M9750 laptop running vista on it, here's the issue:

So my SCSI/RAID Host Controller is missing a driver, this is what window's spits out:

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" :eek:

I tried looking for a driver but have no clue where to look and what to look for. I also tried to put back the original driver by using factory made backup cd but the driver is still missing.

Does the scsi/raid controller driver fall under the chipset drivers?

I'm not sure with Alienware systems.

Is there anyway to find out that kind of controller is it, like what's the brand

Looks like you might have to trawl through all the drivers to find the one you want,
I could only go for "best fit" from the limited information you gave.

OK so I did the scan, and I got few outdated drivers, but I don't see anything resembling scis/raid controller, would it be under some other name?

And also no missing drivers are reported through the drive detective

What was the report exactly?

Well, just listed all of my hardware, organized by groups, and told me if the drivers were OK or not, I couldn't cut and past it

Did it say chipset anywhere?

Are you using daemon tools?

Update:

So driver detective tells me there are a whole lot of drivers that need to be update, so unless I register the program (they don't even have a price on their website) I need a lot of time to update each driver individually
However, I got the message back from the manufacturer and they told me that this controller is not important and I should either ignore the message or disable the controller all together
