The manufacture just told me:

The item is pre-wired at 120 volts
And you can re-wire it for 230 volts the manual will have instructions to re-wire for the 230 volts

My apologies.. this can Not be wired for 220

My breaker panel has a 50amp breaker for the pump. I guess it
A 220 line. It was used okay on the old sprikler pump, until
The pump went bad.

I wonder if I could use this new pump at the 230 setting??

What is make and model number of the pump?

What does the nameplate and instructions say?

No guessing allowed at the breaker panel. Either you know exactly, or you leave it alone until you read those labels and learn how to use a voltage meter, possibly inside the live panel, and this is only for those that can safely work on live lines with proper protective gear.

You mention 230 then 220. Which is it? And inside the panel,if in North America, is 240 volts. 230 volt motors work fine on 240 volts.

I am not getting the info I need to help.

And in your original question first you state:

the manufacture just told me:

The item is pre-wired at 120 volts
And you can re-wire it for 230 volts the manual will have instructions to re-wire for the 230 volts

Then:

My apologies.. this can Not be wired for 220

Then:

I wonder if I could use this new pump at the 230 setting?????

This is confusing, not sure what your asking, or even if your asking a question.

So until you provide detailed information I requested, along with a question that makes sense, I cannot help.

Perhaps someone else can make heads or tails out of this.
