I have a craftsman 20hp 6spd 42in cut rider. With the MANUAL PTO disengaged the blades are still spinning. Seems to be something jammed on the deck but not sure. A little help would be appreciated. Thank you

OK shut off the engine and inspect the tensioner pulley to the deck. Operate it to see if pulling the handle back pulls the pulley away from the belt. This isn't a new belt is it?

I had to drop the deck off the mower so I could see what the problem was. The tension pulley seems jammed and won't move at all.

Won't spin or the arm won't swing?

Arm on the right blade is swinging but arm on the left only swings about a half inch

Tension pulley will not budge. Looks like the plate that the pulley is on is supposed to pivot but won't.

WD 40 and let it soak. You need to work that arm back and forth and get it to freely move. If not replace the assembly

Got it fixed. Found one bolt that had rusted enough to not let the tension pulley move. Removed the two center pulleys. Scraped down pretty well and rust penatrant. Had to leave the one bolt that was stuck backed off a quarter turn. Thanks for all your help. It helps to bounce things back and forth with others. Thanks again:)
