My Sears air compressor stopped building pressure, it just runs. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks

Probably time for a re-build. You might wish to evaluate whether a different compressor is needed if the failure is premature.
Look for any check valves and evaluate.

After only 17 months?? I don't use it that often for it to be worn out. Unfortunately, it only had a one year warranty.

Please explain what size and style of compressor you have not just the brand name. Id the safety blow off valve stuck open or forgot to shut it. That's not a bleed off valve at the bottom of the tank

Guess I should back up just a bit. I was using my compressor to air up a tire and it would not shut off again or gain any pressure to shut off automatically. It is a Sears 1.5 hp 5 gal compressor, if that helps. I've tried a couple of different times to turn it on and try to see if it builds up any pressure. It did and it only got to about 40 psi. Since then, I've drained all the air out once again and tried to repeat. No luck.
