I will speak to the Microsoft RDP and Citrix ICA clients since I have had no need for anything else since the Windows NT/9x days. I am not downing the others, it's just that why spend more money when it is not required.
A dialup connection is all that is required for bandwidth. But keep in mind that there are two different requirements for a remote control sessions - one is bandwidth and the other is connection quality. You can get by with a slower connection providing that it is reliable.
With all of the products, you can help yourself by controlling the remote connection aspects such as allowing only lower resolution graphics, not redirecting resources such as printers, drives and print/com ports.
Many of these options are specified prior to making a connection so you are in control of the usability of your product.
