Hi, I just want to know how long it would take for Canadian embassy to process a work permit for a live-in caregiver going to Canada? The employment contract and the Labour Market Opinion are already available.

Hope someone could tell me. Thanks.

It depends, where are you submitting your application?

I see that at the Canadian embassy in Manila they are very slow... only 3% of cases are processed in a month... this means that it could be a very long wait... over a year unless it is a very simple case and no need for any in depth investigation of your past.

I'm curious, do you already have a job offer? Something like a live in caregiver is not really a specialized field, normally you have to have a lot of experience in a high demand field to apply for a work visa.

I applied as live in caregiver for canada,I'm from the Philippines. My my application was submitted on Oct. 28, 2009. I am done with my ST & medical, now I'm waiting for my visa. 12-18 months is not a guarantee that you will receive your visa within that period..
