I need to know who manufactured the transmission for the John Deere 160 lawn tractor?
The transmission is out of sink and needs to be replaced. Cost from JD 1700+

The transmission for the John Deere 160 is a Peerless 800-840 or 800-840A. There is a small ID tag located on the right side in front of the axle. I'm currently dealing with transmission trouble, and a new replacement transmission is only available directly from John Deere and lists for $761.60.
