I had to jackhammer 14' of my basement floor to expose kitchen waste pipe. Entire pipe was corroded and now replaced. But it has been over a week now and I keep getting water filling part of the trench. The trench is about 18" deep of mud and clay. Each day I shop vac 4-5 gallons of water out of it. The guess is the pipe was corroded and draining straight into the soil for 5-6 years. Do I have an underground reservoir of old kitchen water? I have no exterior drainage problems, live on high ground, and there hasn't been rain for weeks. Will it dry out so I can pour new concrete over trench?
Thanks, Kristi
