How do I remove moisture between two panes of glass?

I have heard people using a hair dryer to clear the windows by warming them up, but this doesn't solve the problem from coming back and there is no way to actually fix this problem as a homeowner.. Condensation between panes of glass is a sign of seal failure, usually a warranty item depending on the age, and maker of the window and they will repair or replace the failed units for free if covered or you are original purchaser,. My windows have lifetime warranty's against such failures so its good to check if you can...

There are a few companies out there that claim they can restore a failed thermopane window, previous poster is correct with failed seal. Real high end thermopane may have an inert gas other than air but the standard thermo does not. I do not believe there is a DIY fix that works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_DP8XoC09s

I'm just curious if anyone has tried heating the panes until the moisture disappears and then applying a silicone caulk all around to try to reseal the unit? Just an idea that probably can't hurt. If you try this and it works, let me know. I know several people with this unsightly problem.
