I work in NY and I live in CT and my wife works in CT and lives in CT as well.
1) Which one is better, if we file married filing separate or married filing joined? Assuming total income 100K, 50K each.
If we file married filing join, we both will pay NY (non-residents) and CT for the total income. But if we file married separate, she will pay only CT and I'll pay NY (non-residents) and CT.
2) Also can you suggest other ways to maximize refunds & save Tax . Thanks
