I installed carlisle wide plank pine tongue and groove flooring in my home MYSELF after being assured by the company that I could do it myself. This was a mistake. I did not use a nail gun but opted for the antique nails supplied by carlisle. The problem is the gaps between the boards are huge and ugly.. any suggestions? ( I told carlisle the boards were not straight... I was told by carlisle that TREES are not straight... ) please don't tell me to rip it out and start over.. I paid an arm and a leg for this stuff and I am not thrilled with their help center. They told me it was an easy install and a diy... no, it was not.
They said the gaps add "charm"... no, they don't. They are ugly and a dirt magnet... thank you

I am surprised they would tell you that since their lumber is reclaimed old timber. When they cut it its about as staight as any plank you will find. Maybe the wood was a shade damb and has now dried or you simply do not apply enough force to get them tight. Your opions are few and you have alreeady mentioned the best, tear it out. Maybe ,jusy maybe a floor finisher can sand and fill the cracks with wood putty like to do with any hardwood refinish job.
