Ok this thread is for all people using safe and natural products who are willing to keep the board members updated with their results. If you use Bio Claire or anything that contains hydroquinone, mercury, or any other harmful ingredients, this thread is NOT FOR YOU! If your are using a product and you are unsure about the ingredients, post the ingredients here and I along with other concerned members will do research on the ingredients. People are tired of using products that are putting their health at risk unknowingly (amazingly some don't even care, they just want to be white/lighter) and today we are going to end this!

After my sitaution with Bio Claire I decided to go natural and I'm glad I did!
Starting Monday I will be using gluta-blend soap (a soap that is blended with kojic acid, glutathione, and rosehip oil. It is also good at exfoliating and micropeeling) and istant skin whitening effect lotion ( a lotion that contain high dosage of kojic acid and glutathion as well as rosehip oil and other safe ingredients) and will update you on my progress. I was kind of concerned about the high dosage of kojic acid in the lotion but I searched for reviews on the product and users have seeing amazing results. Although the results were not instant ( 1 1/2 weeks before they seen results) they seen amazing results. And the bottles last 3 weeks if used all over. ITs actually the bet seller on the amira website I orderd from and I must say the amira website is amazing because it only sells natural safe products! Goggle amira majic for the website.

So feel free to post ingredients that your unsure about or comment/review on safe products you are using or have used.

HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE! JOIN THE NATURAL MOVEMENT!:D

*MODS PLEASE Don't DELETE THIS THREAD BECAUSE I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS THREAD WILL BE VERY HELPFUL FOR A lot OF PEOPLE*

I am going with the Natural Movement for lightening my skin gradually.Plants extracts are good.Like Bearberry Extract,Melissa Officnaliss Leaf,Malva extract,Caviar extarct, etc.Salicyclic Acid is not harmful.I started using a new Natural whitening Product that just came out called Over White. So far,its been positive.ently tones me.But I have to wait and see HOW it goes. But I am sure that the Natural Movement is the Best even though its gentle.GO FOR IT.ANY ONE WILL DO

Hello Weezing.

I have been using Bio Claire for 7 days.
I am not sure that I've gotten lighter due to the acne scarring on 80% of my face... well, I believe I have but nothing significant.

I read that you have gone All Natural... I also intend to.

However, this is my question... b4 you got the brown spots using Bio Clear & you were please, what was your original complexion, how many shades did you lighten-up, did you have acne scarring(if so, did the scars disappear), how long did you use it, & was your face continuously dry & peeling in places?

I am NEWBIE central.

Please reply & advise.

Thank you in advance

Well my starting complexion was medium brown and like within like 4 weeks I was very lightskinned like Beyonces complexion which was my goal and it happened so fast and all I used was the bio claire lotion. Yes I had acne and in the beginning the acne and the ance scars were gone! My sister told me that I look like I just got a facial but then the spots came I looked like a dalmatian it was so not cute I had to stop and within a week I was back to my original complexion. My face was never dry and it never peeled.

Has anyone here tried Tonique? I've been using it for 2 months now and I am about 4 or 5 shades lighter than when I started and the products are all natural. I tried Bio Claire and it took a long while to work. With Tonique the results were visible within the first week. Honestly this stuff cleared up acne scars that I haven't been able to get rid of for years. You should try it and I think they cost less than Bio Claire. Here's the website Tonique Skin Care-All Natural Skin Whitening Products (http://www.toniqueskincare.com).

I am just passionate about skin whitening. I used a lot of other all natural products in the past that promoted a fairer complexion but, I didn't see any noticeable results in such a short time. I have to admit I didn't Google them when I first purchased the product a co-worker of mine uses the products and told me about it. I know they're not a scam because I personally use the products. I have been lightening my skin for 10 years now and I haven't found anything that is all natural that works like this. If you don't want to try it then don't try it I am just saying that it works so, you can call it promotion if you want to.

Wow I tried to stay out of this thread cause its for natural lightening, but I couldn't help myself. I have also heard of l'mage beverly hills, the site of celebrity whitening. LOL, my friend ordered from them got a completely useless package that did nothing except send her to the bathroom. Poor girl spent over 350 for something that did not work. There are all kinds of scams on the internet but I have used this and it's not a scam. It's really sad that people have to think this way but, understandable I guess. Hopefully someone who has used the product will post to this thread soon so u can see what I am saying is true.

Hi abbycute,

If you don't mind my asking, why did you stop using Fair and Flawless? I've read others say it was way too expensive, or that results were not consistent (as I believe member MAHARANI stated in other threads). Did you feel the same way?

I took a look at the Tonique website, and it appears they sell mostly the same products as Fair and Flawless. I say this because some information from the Tonique website is EXACTLY the same as from the Fair and Flawless (F&F) website. Here are some examples:

EXAMPLE #1: Customer service information

Link from Tonique: Tonique Skin Care-All Natural Skin Whitening Products (http://www.toniqueskincare.com/category_s/40.htm)
Link from FNF: Fair and Flawless | Customer Service (http://www.fairandflawlessskin.com/customer_service.html)

I notice the language is identical, except it says "Tonique" instead of "Fair and Flawless" where applicable, or vice versa.

EXAMPLE #2: Ingredient lists for Facial Lightening Cream

Ingredients of Tonique 10x Intense Skin Whitening Cream:

------------------------------
Sorry for such a long post, but I just wanted to illustrate my point that I think Tonique and Fair and Flawless are the same company, except F&F has a larger product selection? Although in some, if not all cases, the prices are lower at Tonique than F&F. Also, maybe one "notable difference" is the strength of the whitening gel. It's labelled as "10x" for Tonique vs. "5x" for F&F. And maybe Tonique doesn't fill subsequent orders with "diluted" products?

I'd appreciate thoughts from you, as well as current and former F&F users.

Also, on a side note, some F&F products are also sold in South Africa as "Pure Perfect" (website: Pure Perfect - Lighter with Confidence (http://www.pureperfect.co.za/why.html)). This site gives more straightforward information to the consumer about what to expect, including possible symptoms, when using the products.

Thank you, and continued success with your skin lightening efforts!

I've use F&F before and yes they were too expensive. I couldn't keep up with the prices and they weren't as effective as Tonique. I don't know if they're affiliated but, a lot of the all natural skin whitening companies tend to be fairly alike. I found I got much faster results with Tonique though and it's less expensive.

abbycute is a seller and she needs to be banned!

Well I got the soap and lotion Friday and I was so happy. The lotion is purple and smellls like lavender and its very easy to apply but you have to rub it in really good but absorbs into your skin really fast. The soap got rid of the few acne bumps on my forehead and I noticed that yesterday night. The soap smells good and it lathers nicely. I've only been using for 3 days so far no results but my skin is a lot smother! GO NATURAL!

I would also like to say the likas papaya soap really works. It wasn't drastic at all maybe like a half of shade from 1.5 months of use but it worked! Its not strong, no added scents, and it's a good exfoliator and its extremely cheap!! So if your on a budget and you want a safe skin lightening soap go with likas papaya soap.

What? I don't understand why everyone is so negative and harsh might I add!! You don't have to ban me I prefer to speak with positive, open-minded people. You would think people who choose to whiten their skin would be more open-minded and receptive. I hope in the future the people here can learn not be so suspicious (a lot of oppurtunities in life tend to pass you by that way). Anyhow, good luck in your skin whitening ventures. Bye

i never heard of cocunut as a lightner, but i know that papaya is good

I don't think coconut is a skin lightener, but it is anti-bacterial; so I'm guessing it'll help with acne and pimples...

Oh by the way, isn't placenta like the "bag" the babies live in while they are in their mom's tummy and also referred to as the after-birth? Or is there something else called placenta?(sorry for the ignorance... lol)... if so,how could it lighten skin??

Oh btw, isn't placenta like the "bag" the babies live in while they are in their mom's tummy
babies live in the "gestational sac" with is a sac that has the baby and amniotic fluid, hence when your water breaks the sac has ruptured
and also referred to as the after-birth??
yes it is know as the afterbirth, in a normal delivery it comes out after the baby
Or is there something else called placenta??(sorry for the ignorance....lol)...if so,how could it lighten skin???

The placenta is the bridge that connects the mom and fetus, the placenta help takes control of the production of the pregnancy hormone @ 16 weeks gestation in the mom and gives the baby the nutrients it needs to survive in utero.

Here's the wikipedia description of placenta

Placenta is an organ present in eutherian mammals that connects the developing fetal tissues to the uterine wall. The placenta supplies the fetus with maternal nutrients, and allows fetal waste to be disposed of via the maternal kidneys. The word placenta comes from the Latin for cake, from Greek plakóenta/plakoúnta, accusative of plakóeis/plakoús - πλακόεις, πλακούς, "flat, slab-like"[1][2], referring to its round, flat appearance in humans. Protherial (egg-laying) and metatherial (marsupial) mammals produce a choriovitelline placenta that, while connected to the uterine wall, provides nutrients mainly derived from the egg sac. The placenta develops from the same sperm and egg cells that form the fetus, and functions as a fetomaternal organ with two components, the fetal part (Chorion frondosum), and the maternal part (Decidua basalis).

The placenta in the 3 in 1 whitening soap is basically the extracted plant placenta that has a natural whitening affect on the skin, put into a soap.

Hope this helps

OK - after a thorough research on this Tonique product, I found the following information.

1. Tonique seem very scary and scammy to me. Take a look at the before and after page of the site All Natural Skin Whitening Pic's (http://www.toniqueskincare.com/All_Natural_Skin_Whitening_Pic_s_s/49.htm)

2.All the pages on the entire site can be traced to back several different websites.

3. Tonique website whois is registered to a
Simone Drummond

Apt CN
Baltimore MD 21206.

4. No company information, no product sizes etc.
5. The toll free number is forwarded to a sprint pcs cell phone number 443.768.5024

6. The before and after photos are stolen from the following websites:
a. Pallid Skin Whitening Formula - Ultimate Complexion lightening tablets (http://www.avreskincare.com/skin/pallid/)

b.Magic Potions | Skin Whitening Experts | Skin Lightening Products (http://www.skinwhiteningexperts.com/index.php?)
module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=7

7. All the product reviews were written on the same date.
8. Most of post/blogs on the products are posted by a "MARSHA" yet when I contacted the toll free number a "MARSHA" spoke to me. My opinion = STAY AWAY.

Buyer beware there are so many RED flags that SCREAMS SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

QUOTE=galfijej;1692178]Hi abbycute,

Source: Tonique Skin Care-All Natural Skin Whitening Products (http://www.toniqueskincare.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=EST10X&Show=ExtInfo)

EXAMPLE #3: Ingredients for Skin Lightening Lotion

Source: Tonique Skin Care-All Natural Skin Whitening Products (http://www.toniqueskincare.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ESL3X&Show=ExtInfo)

Ingredients of Skin Soho™ "LIQUID LASER" Colada White Hand & Body Milk (Price:$79.95)
Source: Skin Lightening Lotion | Hand and Body (http://www.fairandflawlessskin.com/shop/white-hand-body-milk.asp)

Purified seawater, aloe vera leaf juice, anthemis nobilis flower extract, symphytum leaf extract, citric grandis seed extract, undecylenoyl phenylalinne (SEPIWHITE MSH), Vitamin A, E, lactic acid, glycolic acid, methylparaben, propylparaben, mulberry extract, shea butter, rosehip extract, citric acid fragrance

Thank you, and continued success with your skin lightening efforts![/QUOTE]

I just said that I use the products you don't have to. It seems like you have a lot of time on your hands if you ask me. I used F&F for a while and it was good but Tonique was just as effective if not more effective. Keep in mind I tried Makari too and Civant and I am sure I receved all my products. In my opinion this site is full of nothing but website owners trying to push their own product and discourage use of anything else. I did my research and this company (Tonique) has been around for a while. A lot of things work I am just saying this is what I use.

Abbycute that is so true! Doesn't that bioclaire stuff contain mercury? I almost tried it once but, then decided I wasn't that desperate to have my skin whitened that I would use chemicals. Btw have you tried the gel from Tonique that is what I think I am going to try next. They say it works fast.

I didn't know when I started using it that it was dangerous to your health and stopped using it when I found out and my mistake but I think I did try bioclaire before too. Here is a post from Amira Magic Cream Doesn't Work started by Sosodef

Pao, don't waste your money on the magic cream. The only positive reviews on this site are from the people who are selling it. Try real products like makari or godiva. Good Morning WhiteandLight:)

I agree with your comment.
Oh if only that were possible for those to act like ADULTS!

We all have one common goal but it seems to have changed from finding the right product to pointing fingers and accusing other members of being sellers and promoters.

The solution to that?
Don't buy it and move on.
Pretty simple don't you think?

I totally agree on your statement about "being jumped on" when sharing experiences with a product. Believe me if you are a member of a skin lightening board (and this type of behavior seems to happen to skin lightening boards more then any other skincare board) YOU WILL be accused of being a seller. And I love it!! This cream is the best natural skin lightening
Product I have ever used. Expensive yes, but it's worth every penny.

Don't know much about this Tonique line of products but I would like to
Add that Fair and Flawless does offer products wholesale with a private label
Option, meaning anyone can purchase their products and put their own label
On the jar. Perhaps that is what the seller done and there is nothing wrong
With that. Maybe this vendor should have worked a little bit more to separate his/herself from the Fair and Flawless line (IF they are in fact private labeling the line) and worked on naming the products differently and
Being a bit more original in the product descriptions.

Girl I really don't know where you can get it online, but I get it in the local store here in Africa, and I got the hot movate gel and the esophram movate @ least that's what it says on the tube, but girl I am very suspicious about what it is, I really don't know cause this ting has lightened me but I got white spots, not mj white more like rihanna white, well I am waiting for the rest of my body to finish peeling, it looks like I am going to be rianna colour now because of this african movate ohh well:) and it gives you this really pale undertone its not even high yellow its just pale white undertone

Hello Galfije,

I tried to private message you but I guess you have that feature turned off.

I wanted to know where did you see the information for the Tonique 10x Intense Skin Whitening Cream ingredients? They don't look the same compared to the Fair and Flawless ingredients anymore:confused:

The Tonique Green Tea Moisturizing Whitening Lotion does not have any ingredients list next to the product description and I see the price has gone up from $59.95 to $79.95 which is the same price as the Fair and Flawless lightening lotion.

Jun 5, 2009, 05:33 AM
ok - after a thorough research on this Tonique product, I found the following information.
4815 Bayonne Ave
Apt CN
Baltimore MD 21206.
4. No company information, no product sizes etc.
5. The toll free number is forwarded to a sprint pcs cell phone number 443.768.5024
6. The before and after photos are stolen from the following websites:
a. Pallid Skin Whitening Formula - Ultimate Complexion lightening tablets (http://www.avreskincare.com/skin/pallid/)
b.Magic Potions | Skin Whitening Experts | Skin Lightening Products (http://www.skinwhiteningexperts.com/index.php?)
module=pagemaster&PAGE_user_op=view_page&PAGE_id=7
7. All the product reviews were written on the same date.
8. Most of post/blogs on the products are posted by a "MARSHA" yet when I contacted the toll free number a "MARSHA" spoke to me. My personal opinion = STAY AWAY.
Buyer beware there are so many RED flags that SCREAMS SCAMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Here is a post of mine from a blog mentioning Tonique Skin Lightening:

RENEE: I find it hard to believe that you used Fair and Flawless then used Tonique with no problems since they are pretty much the same product with many of the same ingredients. There are even two Tonique products who names are similar to that of a Fair and Flawless product. If you take a close look around you'll notice the Tonique site is even modeled after the Fair and Flawless website. It's no coincidence that whenever Tonique is mentioned so is Fair and Flawless.

In conclusion I think Tonique is either a competitor who has seen the success of Fair and Flawless and wants to "one up" them by advertising their cream/gel as 10x stronger or they are a company/person who is private labeling Fair and Flawless, nothnig wrong with wanting to start your own business.

I actually applaud the person who put the site together, they did a great job in my opinion. It is hosted on Volusion which is a very professional site hosting company (not saying scammers don't host sites with high ranking companies and make the site look good).

I remember when Fair and Flawless first came out in 2004/2005:confused:
There was a customer who was so impressed with their products she decided to start selling it herself, I think she named it NuSkin, I forgot...

My point is this, there are some who want to start their own business by selling whatever merchandise they choose and who are so gung ho they sort of jump the gun and not take their time. Using before and after photo's, copying and pasting paragraphs from other sites and making up testimonials because you could not wait for real ones to come in is where others are going to start to look at your site/company as a scam.

I think that is what got W.O.E. (worldofentertainment) and their skin creams into trouble with skin lightening board members. There are members like myself who have been playing this skin lightening game for a loooooooong time. We have seen and heard it all. I don't know how many skin lightening websites I've been to, but when someone post a pic in the back of my mind I'm thinking "I know I've seen that picture before!!!" It doesn't take too long to find it either. Lol

If a product works the way it is advertised to do it there would be no need for the fake testimonials and photo's. Now I don't know if Tonique had those kinds of photos because all of findings Indian Princess and Galfije posted are no longer there:confused: Perhaps there is someone who may have something to do with the site edited it somehow. Not sure about those testimonials, don't know why they all have the same date, never seen that before.

The minute she was accused of being a seller she pretty much baled out of this thread fast.(page 4 post#31 and #33). I pm'd her and she would never answer any of my questions. You'd think someone who used the product would want to help someone else out right? I mean this is askmehelpdesk.

Page 3 post #28
galfijej posted about the look a like site with customer service information

The same information.

She comes back as WhiteandLight page 4 post #38 posting of bio claire, (see

Next post (post #39) guess she couldn't wait.

Page 7 post #63 Indian Princess post new information about the Tonique
Website. The before and after photos taken from another site, product reviews written by the same person and all having the same date.

Page 7 AbbyCute comes back. Now this is when I had a feeling AbbyCute and
WhiteandLight were the same person. (they both joined April 2009). Post #67 when WhitheandLight agrees with AbbyCute about Tonique.
That post was so obvious to me and apparently to ladydanielle (page 8 post #77) who is no doubt a member of the brighter skin forum, they always use
The word scammy.

Now in the mean time in between time the site information is being edited
With chucks of information being removed in direct response to what is
being said in this thread. Coincidence? I think not! Before and after pics are gone, ingredient list gone from the lotion, and the cream list of ingredients has been edited, phone number gone, customer service info missing paragraphs, lot's of white space on the site now.

Attempts at improvements are being made though. The phone number is back and they now have added sizes to the product description again these
Are in direct response to what was being posted in this thread.

Still no answer from AbbyCute in pm and no answer from Tonquie to my second question I asked 6 days ago. WhiteandLight and I were chattnig in pm. Now WhiteandLight and AbbyCute no longer except private messages and Shantifive came in not excepting private messages.

I still think Shantifive is also another id. Notice only one post praising a product and posting her continuous support "to your company".
Who's company is she talking about? Don't know because as you can see
(page 13 post#122 #123 ) she did not answer my question to which product she was referring to.

Oh well... it's all over and done with for this vendor in this forum.
I know for a FACT this company has nothing to do with Fair and Flawless.
I suggest being more honest when trying to sell your wares.

Skinactives.com sells Alpha Arbutin you can add to any lotion.
(use Product Catalog, drop down menu to Quick Purchase Product List).

I purchased it before but I don't think I mixed it right. I added the whole
Tube to the Canvas Base Cream they offer. Maybe I should have added something else to it or mixed it in something more liquid in consistency.

That was my first and last attempt at trying to make my own skin lightening cream. Perhaps I'll just add it to a product to make it more
Stronger instead of trying to make it from scratch.

AHA is alphy hydroxy acid such as glycolic acid or lactic acid. I like both of them, just can't choose between the two! :D
You can get AHA from ANYWHERE! They come in forms of creams, lotions, facial washes and even peels.
I don't know where to get larger sizes of arbutin from, mine was just a small pot for the face. :)

First of all- dark skin does not exfoliate and peel like lighter skin. Any cream you use will work better by using glycolic acid to keep peeling your skin. I found some glycolic acid 35% cream in TJ Maxx. They have some beautiful creams from europe. And that cream I use night and day and my skin is clear and lighter now. I mixed a cream of sunscreen, pure glycolic acid 35%, kojic acid 2% and HQ 2%. Im also on the L'MAJ pills. I can see a difference. My husband even commented that I look lighter.

About.com:
When treating acne in skin of color, special care must be taken. It is often (wrongly) believed that darker skin is tougher than it's lighter counterparts. Actually, brown skin can be very sensitive, and must be treated very gently.

Seattletimes.nwsource.com:
Contrary to popular belief, darker skin is not tougher; in fact, while extra melanin does have its benefits sun protection and slowed signs of aging it makes the skin more sensitive and vulnerable to injury.

"If the skin is darker it is prone to scarring and hyper-pigmentation, so we have to be more careful with skin of color," says Terri Dunn, a Berkeley, Calif., dermatologist. One-third of Dunn's patients are of Latin, Asian, Indian, Mediterranean or African descent, and thus require special skin care.

Not getting any argument from me, your just simply wrong in your statement
That darker skin is "tougher" than lighter skin.

"Dark skin is a blessing as it relates to sun damage and aging,
a 50-year-old woman of color often looks 40, while a white woman of the same age might look 10 years older than her real age." says Susan C. Taylor, M.D., director of the Skin of Color Center in New York and author of Brown Skin: Dr. Susan Taylor's Prescription for Flawless Skin, Hair and Nails (HarperCollins, 2003).

The reason darker skin ages well is because of the melanin in the skin not
Because of it's "toughness".

Yes I do favor Fair and Flawless as the best natural product for skin lightening
That I have used, I don't think the price (of the facial cream) is not that bad
And you can't always go by what your friend or others have said about a
Product, what may not work for your friend may just be perfect for you.

Before Fair and Flawless I used Hydroquinone products and I still have no
Problem with those. I think Fair and Flawless was the first natural skin lightener I used.

But I do like to try others, Diana Stalder worked for me, African Queen worked, Hollywood Secret Cream worked etc.. Most skin lightening products
Work for me except for two of them, one I tried to make myself and another
One I bought called Skin Bleach by The Spa Basin but this cream looked
Just like the homemade cream I tried to make, you can see bits of the powder
In the cream, it did not dissolve well, that's probably why it did not work for
Me.

One cream I have always wanted to try is Godiva Skin Lightening Cream. I've
Known about this product for years but have not tried it yet, I heard it works
Best on asian skin but I still wanted to see for myself because they do have a
Couple of testimonials on their site who are not asian posting it worked for them.

What is the active ingredients in this fair and flawless

nikkicute
Jul 1, 2009, 03:05 AM
The active ingredient in Fair and Flawless is Sepiwhite.
I just got a jar and I see they changed the formula of the cream again.
I don't like it!! It feels like a gel now instead of a cream, I think it's the aloe vera gel they added, I don't think that was in the cream before. I remember way back when I think I read in a magazine that
Aloe was good for the skin and I went and bought a small jar. Right
After you apply it, you can touch your skin and it feels a bit sticky.
It took a while for it to absorb, that's how this new cream feels.

It's going to take a little getting used to but I'm still going to use it. I
Wonder if they have any left over jars of the old formula?

I purchased some aloe vera juice one time, bought a big half gallon at
Wal-Mart. Goodness... the things I used to do to get clear skin!! Lol

nikki how much shades have you lightened with this cream

Let me see...
I have used the cream off and on, I need to be more consistent with my skin
Regime because I keep wondering off trying other products.

Sacha Cosmetics : Yellow based makeup foundation, liquid, cream foundation makeup. (http://www.sachacosmetics.com/store/foundation.cfm?category=25)

Scroll down and look at the different skin tones.

I think I went from Perfect Spice to Perfect Honey. How many shades is that?
My goal is Perfect Caramel. I know if I would have kept using it
More, because I've read posts about it taking a couple months maybe a year
To get to a really light shade. The problem with me is I keep stopping, try
Another products or don't use any skin lightening creams at all.

Now that I have incorporated Retin A into my routine which is really helping
With the lightening and smoothing out my skin I think I can get there. And I
Have to keep it up.

Doesn't make any sense for me to buy all these products through the years,
Lightening creams and peels and I still look the same because I was not consistent. I'm putting my foot down this time and sticking to it!!

I really mean it this time. I really really do. LOL! :p

The powder is 1.8oz / 50g ($43.90).
The recipe calls for 2g to make a 2% cream.

Recommended use level 1-2%, must be melted for use (best in oil phase of formula at 80oC/176oF). Optimal pH <5 or >6.2 for best incorporation into formulas. Insoluble but miscible in water

Melt it with what:confused:
How do you check the ph?
Never mind...

I rather purchase the cream 1oz ($49.95).
No mixing, no melting, just open up the jar and enjoy.:D

hey nikicute.. its good to see your bak.. I haven't seen one of your posts in a while (mayb its just me not checking in)
I have been using fair and flawless for the last 4 yearss... on and off.. mostly for my melasma.. it used to work great.. but left my skin so dry.. but then again I used their body 5X gel on my face.. it was like 150$ pretty expensive... but I thought it was worth

I have used bio claire.. I still have it... but it didn't really do anything to me..
godiva.. did not work..
hq worked 4%...

what is african queen and hollywood secret?

I also want to be a perfect caramel... basically I am.. but my arms and feet have gotten so much darker that I look gross... but its so hard to lighten those areas.. I guess because there "rough" areas... I don't know

I think I'm going to try the f&f again for a while lets see what happens..

Have we met or chatted before?
Your ID does not look familiar to me, since I have not been here in a
while I don't remember the regulars from before.

You used the 5X gel on your face:eek:
No wonder your skin was so dry!
That gel is for the body only.

Now I see they have come out with a 80xF Facial Whitening Gel:confused:
I want to see the ingredients list first, they don't have on the site.

Never tried Godiva or Bio Claire. Every time I see Bio Claire I keep thinking
everybody is talking about Bio Oil because I've seen the commercial on t.v.
The 4% hq cream worked great on my skin.

African Queen is one of the many skin lightening creams I have used.
No doubt it was a hq cream, the cream looked hot pink and smelled so good.

Hollywood Secret Cream was the cream that brought me to the skin
lightening boards in 2003. Before that I had no idea other people were
like me, wanting to lighten their complexion.
I first saw the cream online in 2000.
The before and after pictures were unbelievable!

Remember that show MARTIN ?
With Martin Lawrence and Tisha Campbell.
That's how the before and after pictures looked like, the lady in the
before picture was the same complexion as Martin and then the after she
looked like Tisha Campbell!

I tried the product and it was working, a little bit of peeling came with it.
Someone posted on the board that the cream smelled just like Clear Essence.
Even though it came in a jar the product inside was like a lotion, I was not
expecting that and almost spilled the whole thing.
Just my luck that when I wanted to order some more they stopped making it
and switched to making some lemon cream:rolleyes: Never heard of any
lemon cream strong enough to lighten the skin, so I did not order.

You may be getting vitiligo. I would speak to a physician. If that's the case you need to decide if you want to tattoo the lite spots, use a make-up cover, depig the dark remaining areas. I hear that when an area depigments it can take up to a year to repig so the color will come back its just you deciding what to do until then. Two make-ups that cover flaws well is iman has a stick that's like the fashion fair coverage or estee lauder makes a mouse foundation that you put on with a brush and it looks flawless also dermablend was a great choice but I understand the company or the packaging has changed. They sell it at ulta. Just a few ideas.

There is no such thing as "getting" vitiligo, either you have it or you
Don't and no cream can cause you to "get" it.
The mono cream just gave you the appearance of having it.

Yes, yes, that's nice... but I'm not going to get the color I want to be or even out my screwed up hyperpigmented face by putting a slice of lemon on my face for 30mins a day. At least not in a timely fashion, I don't want to have to do that for the rest 10yrs to get 1 shade lighter... of course I exaggerate but you get the idea...

If you have a problem with scars or spots on your face or body then this sounds great! But if you use a skin whitener to lighten your complexion full body, in order to change who you are as some of the statements here suggest, then I think you need a session with a therapist to determine why you want to change yourself. Many people of color strive to change themselves due to pressure in our society that heightens the appeal to be white or light skinned. Commercials and videos cater to light skinned girls perpetrating that it's cool or good to be light. Keep your dark skin! The darker the better- our dark brown ancestors were beautiful and people in present day Africa, Asia and India are just beautiful!!

Kammiepooh thanks for your concern, but what I am about to say I have mentioned in another thread. So I'll paste the message here:

You ask why some desire to change their physical appearance when you have unsuccessfully tried to change yours... for different reasons of course... but, the fact remains the same.

The point is that you still attempted to change your skin by using self tanners to appear artificially darker. I am not saying you are wrong for this to darken your skin, as this is your right. Just as it is everyone else right if they desire to look lighter. I understand you ask this question because you have not been in this situation. So, I will try and explain.

Most of us are not trying to become a different race, that is physically impossible, but to achieve a lighter tone. For many, it isn't to lighten just for the heck of it, I'm sure they have their reasons to. You first have to also question societies around the world and in our communities why do they mistreat those who are not light, even those from the same group. All colors are equally beautiful as we are all created equal, but we all are not treated equally. Even for those who wish to not change their tone, whether they are fair, yellow, red, brown, or dark brown, which is completely their desire and is fine. Safety when altering anything on the body is important, as I am struggling to find better products.

Also, those who question "why lighten" must also question "why tan, why artificially tan, why perm the hair, why straighten the hair, why get nose jobs, dye the hair a different color, and colored contacts, lip injections, butt implants, even tattoos, wigs, " etc. etc... Humanity is always trying to alter their appearance and for one to say someone shouldn't and the other can, is hypocritical. I do not believe people MUST alter their appearance, but if they wish to or not, either way they have their reasons.

Kammiepooh that was a lame comment you made, as well as prejudging one's own actions. I rarely watch tv and when I do I only watch Discover, Nat Geo, History Channel, CNN, MSNBC. And I am definitely a book worm and bet I have more books in one room than you had in 1 lifetime. I also enjoy creating websites, programming, and action scripts as I am a web designer..so to misapprehend one's intelligence is a fallacy on your part. To categorize everyone here as one race or ethnic group is stereotypical and judgemental. We come from all backgrounds, all colors, and all nationalities.

It doesn't make you any better coming on this forum every waking hour of the day harassing the other members. Did you read my previous post carefully that I had written to you? Ok this thread is for all people using safe and natural products who are willing to keep the board members updated with their results. If you use Bio Claire or anything that contains hydroquinone, mercury, or any other harmful ingredients, this thread is NOT FOR YOU! If your are using a product and you are unsure about the ingredients, post the ingredients here and I along with other concerned members will do research on the ingredients. People are tired of using products that are puting their health at risk unknowingly (amazingly some dont even care, they just want to be white/lighter) and today we are going to end this!

After my sitaution with Bio Claire I decided to go natural and I'm glad I did!
Starting Monday I will be using gluta-blend soap (a soap that is blended with kojic acid, glutathione, and rosehip oil. It is also good at exfoliating and micropeeling) and istant skin whitening effect lotion ( a lotion that contain high dosage of kojic acid and glutathion aswell as rosehip oil and other safe ingredients) and will update you on my progress. I was kinda concerned about the high dosage of kojic acid in the lotion but I searched for reviews on the product and users have seeing amazing results.

Hi, I'm considering the South Beach Skin Solutions for the more sensitive areas as my nipples, and pubic areas have darkened since pregnancy and not returned to my normal skin colour. I'm familiar with South Beach Skin Solutions. But from looking at their active ingredients, they are good in helping the lightening process and discolorations:

Vitamin C (Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate)
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract)
Bearberry leaf extract (Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi Leaf Extract)

So you can give it a try if you like and tell us your progress. I also have hyperpigmentation and was unalbe to lighten them with lightening creams. From what I was told, I would have to use a TCA peel to remove the dead skin first, and then use retin-a (tretinoine) and a good lightening cream to help them to lighten and prevent from getting dark.

You seem very knowledgeable about skincare. I enjoyed reading your posts. I've always wondered how to dissolve or melt Sepiwhite into lotions and creams. How do you melt it and how do you check the Ph?

Well my funky mmmy kojic acid lotion arrived Friday I took a shower exfoliated well and the lotion is very easy to apply it smells good and you can feel the difference after one use. My skin is very soft! I just hope I start to lighten/whiten soon that will be awesome.

Buy ph strips you can Google search and buy them of the net, after I messed up my first batch and made it to strong I won't mess with sephi white again until I get the correct ph strips to help guide me and I think you should do the same.

Who me:confused:
I've never tried to make a Sepiwhite cream myself, I've always purchased my cream from Fair and Flawless. Lighterrr is the one with the mixing and melting experience.

Yes I did mix the cream and I made it to strong and I still have the dark skin pathces to prove it, if your going to mix make sure you follow the instructions well and also that you get ph testing strips otherwise you may do more harm than good to yourself or just buy the cream except the cream is kind of expensive in comparission to buying the powder and making the cream yourself

Hi Fairr. Sepiwhite is known to be a good and safe lightening agent made of natural amino acids. Its also known as "SkinWhite MSH" and "Undecylenoyl phenylalanine" is it's INCI name. It works by counteracting the alpha-MSH and inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase, they are responsible for our color. I have also read that with continued use, can make the skin very smooth as it helps remove dead skin cells as well. You can buy it online in a powdered form to mix with your own formulated cream but it must be melted first. It is one of the main active ingredients Fair & Flawless use in their products. But they can be very costly, so by purchasing the raw active is a more affordable. Option You can read more about it here What is it: Sepiwhite (http://www.truthinaging.com/face/what-is-it-sepiwhite/)

No prob Fairr, glad I could help.

Beautifulskin the only one that I have experience using that worked and w/ mostly natural ingredients was the makari night cream. But, they can be costly and gives some people breakouts, but it did lighten my melasma and skin tone overall. So, I'm still searching and testing others so if it works I'll let everyone know.

I have googled it and saw some places who are selling it just to check out the product, but I haven't checked the reputations of the companies yet, as you have to be picky with them. I was hoping to see if it was sold at the store sooner or later, cause I can't recall seeing it there before?

GoldenGirl thanks for the advice and I will make sure to do that but, this stuff supposed to be natural so I don't think it will harm my skin. I placed my order for the cream and the gel last night hopefully it will work twice as fast. My friend just raves about it so, hopefully it will work for me. Keep your fingers crossed!!

beautifulskin where did you order from?

I ordered the 10x Intense Skin Cream and Gel from Tonique yesterday and today I ordered the kojic acid soap from funkymommy.net today. My friend has a wedding coming up (the one that told me about what she uses) and she wants me to be her maid of honor I told her if I don't get these horrible spots off my face I am not going to participate in the wedding. That's how bad it is right now! Anyway I got express shipping and the wedding is in a month hopefully my face will be clear by the time the wedding rolls around. My skin used to be flawless this is so depressing :(

Beautifulskin, congrats on being the maid of honor. I found out yesterday that one of my best friend wants me to plan her wedding and to be in the wedding (idk how to do both at once) for spring 2010, so I hope I will look and maintain how I want to look. If you mainly want to remove marks from your face, you can use retin-a (tretinoin) that will help and speed up results along w/ the lightening crème. But, it is a process as the dead skin will have to peel first, then the skin underneath is lighter and more even, so it may take time.

About the makari, it is a safe product with many natural ingredients and I had great results as it lighten my acne scars, and evened and lightened my skin a lot. But, if you have acne-prone oily skin you have to use a really good cleanser that fights acne, as it is a quite oily crème made with hydrogenated oils and 2 different types of silicone which can clog the pores and cause more acne. So, a good acne fighting cleanser and even a face scrub a couple of times a week helped my face a lot.

Ok.
At the time I was using the papaya kojic soap Diana Stalder brand 2x a day, some use Likas papaya soap with good results too. This helps prevent acne, remove dead skin cells, and help with bemishes. I would say they help to prepare the skin for lightening as well. Real black soap is really good too on preventing acne, not the hard kind that has black dye in it.. that's mess. But real black soap is much softer and is actually shades of brown and not "black", this is more milder.

I used St. Ive's Apricot scrub 2-3 a week helped with my oily skin and help prevent acne. But, now I have learned that the apricot seeds are too large ans will tear the skin (visually apparent under the microscope). So it is best to use finer particles, now I use Avon microdermabrasion kit.

When I did get a zit (and sometimes they were big), I wouldn't tamper with it, I put toothpaste on it, let it dry, the rinse a few minutes later. I did this about twice a day everyday until it was gone. And before bed I put a little facial mask on the zit, let it dry then rinse in the morning. I know these 2 techniques sound strange but worked for me, as they help dry the acne and the zits begin to shrink.
