View Full Version : 1997 toyota camry has no power for anything?

My car was stolen and now it won't start at all.. no power at all. Lights don't turn on nothing!! Is there a fuse missing?? Help me please... the bus ride to work is killing me...

MY first look would be at the battery, that's the one simple thing that wouldn't give you any lights, interior dome, dash etc... even a dead battery that sat all night would usually have enough left in it to power a dome light. Check the connections first making sure they didn't do anything when they stole the vehicle, if everything is secure try jumping it. You should see some electrical activity when you hook up the jumper cables to another battery. Yes there are several fuses that could be blown or removed but start with the simplest thing first the battery...

. Remove and fully charge the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free.

. Clean battery terminals and cable connections.

. Test all underhood and underdash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Ensure ignition switch was not messed with. If it was, it likely needs to be replaced.
