My television is using Dish Network. I have a DVD hooked up. How do I switch from the Satellite system to be able to play a DVD on my computer.

Do you have multiple inputs to your television? This is fairly common. Is this a newer HD set?
You need to figure out how your dish connects to the TV -- using which signals (RF, composite video with audio, etc). To do this, look on the back of the television and tell me how many and what type of connections there are.
