I have a urine smell around the toilet. You clean aournd the toilet but it returns in about a day or two. I removed the toilet and put in a double ring at the drain. I then cauked around the bottom of the toilet. Am I missing something because the smell is still there. How can I get rid of it.

Got any kids or very old folks living with you. A bad wax ring will allow sewer gas inside the home but its distinctively a different smell. The only thing I know that repeatedly reproduces a urine smell is repeated applications.

I have the same problem stemming from a not quite 5 year old boy who has trouble standing still for anything, including peeing. I wipe down the toilet and surrounding floor several times a day with Clorox wipes. There are a few places I have learned to pay special attention to... the space around the clips that hold the seat to the toilet and the space in between those clips (under the seat when the seat is up), and the space between the tank and toilet. I am hoping to buy a steamer in the near future to help with this constant cleaning effort. I also have to wash the bath mat and shower curtain very regularly. I've heard that UrineGone works well but haven't tried it.

Tell him that once he is kindergarten he can sit on the toilet and not stand, it's a big boy thing.

He started sitting and we told him standing was the big boy way to do it, just like Daddy. That is what you might call a complete and total lack of foresight.

LOL I hear you. Well do what many parents do, get creative. A special knidergarten treat is to sit on the toilet until you are tall enough to see yourself in the bathroom mirror.
