My ex husband has not been paying his half of his daughter's medical bills as stated in the court order. I actually have correspondence from him stating he is no longer going to pay me. Subsequently, I found out today he is selling his house. Can I file a lien on his property so he has to pay prior to selling? I need to file this quickly before escrow closes and I need to do this myself. I don't know the documents I need, nor where to file. Please help!!

You need to go back to Court and get a Judgment against him in order to file a lien.
Have you taken him to Court on the back child support issue?

You can't just file a lien. You have to obtain a court order to do so. Does your state have an agency that handles child support issuesd? They may be able to help.

If your court order states that he is to pay half the medical bills and he is refusing, then go back to court and file for contempt.
However, you need to make sure that you're following the court order as well; if you are ordered to provide him with a copy of said medical bills within a certain time frame, then you need to do so.
