Hello,

Thanks for reading my question. I was in a car accident and my doctor prescribed massage therapy for my treatment. I have the receipts from the licensed massage therapist. The insurance company said that they require ICD-9 diagnostic and procedure codes in order to reimbursement. My massage therapist does not have the information. I have search and searched online. I have identified diagnostic codes (massage falls under physical therapy or chiropractice diagnostic categories). My challenge is that I can't find any source to correlated appropriate procedure codes and diagnostic codes. Is there anyway to do this? I have spent hours trying to do it on my own and failed. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Try here:

ICD9Data.com - Free 2009 ICD-9-CM Medical Codes (http://www.icd9data.com/)

The diagnostic codes come from the physician's bill.
Procedure codes come from the unit doing the work.

e.g Draw blood - procedure 112; Perform test b procedure 320 (Hypothetical)

Massage a lot of times isn't covered.

I only found this reference to Massage:

Here is a reference that deals specifically with massage.
