Why does detergent remains in the covered section of the dispenser?

The answer in the F&Q section of the book did not help.

1. It's possible that the lid of the dispenser is stuck and not opening when it's supposed to. Make sure it moves freely. Make sure there isn't some dried soap or gunk that's preventing it from moving freely. "Work" it back and forth; clean it or lubricate it, if necessary.

2. Maybe your water isn't hot enough to dissolve the soap.

3. Possibly a plate or something similar covered the degergent dispenser and prevented the water from being sprayed onto it.

I'll bet it's #1. It's happened to me on many occasions.

I tried all 3 and still won't open.

Is there a mechanical connection between the arm that opens the door and the front of the unit?
