I am helping my disabled brother sell some property he owns. There is a mobile home and a lot that we are selling. We have agreed to carry the note. When I spoke with a title company they told me they insure the title and will handle the closing. My problem is the note itself.
From my research it looks like I need a note with an attached mortgage.
My guess is that the mortgage actually gives the power to reposes if the buyer defaults.
Can I get the forms I need without having to get an attorney involved. We don't mind spending a few hundred dollars to get it right but we really don't want to spend the kind of fee's my brothers attorney has charged him in the past so he could get his Jaguar and Rolex President.
Can you provide me with a check list of what we should have.
Thanks

Basically you need a promissory note. You should be able to find samples of promissory notes and mortgage documents with a WEB search
