The main components of the system are

Option 1

1- Feed up line from municipality that connect to a water meter in the premises owner property

2- The feed up line fills up a low level water tank (break tank) at ground or basement level - needed because the city water pressure is usully not sufficient for the water to reach roof tank of highest fixtures

3- Pumps with down stream water filters boost the water from the low level water tank to a roof tank and central water heater (if exist)

4- The roof tank feeds up the fixtures in all levels except for the upper 3 levels in which the height usually is not sufficient so a pump is used to feed up the highest three levels below the roof tank

Option -2

Replace item 3 and 4 above with

3- Pump set is used to dilver water to all levels. So here no roof tank, However, pressure reducing valves usually needed in the lower level due to excessive pump pressure at these levels.

4- Hot water heater and pumps at low level delivers hot water to all level. Also pressure reducing valves usually needed in the lower level due to excessive pump pressure at these levels.
