View Full Version : What is this hispanic fruit?

I saw something in a hispanic food market I can't find in any tropical fruit listing. It's a huge oblong brown fruit that is hard as a rock, with a slightly rough skin. It was not a cocoa pod, jackfruit, durian or coconut. Any ideas?

Wonder if it is Mamey(one of the Sapotes) or Sapodilla, go to this page and click on the name of the Fruit you are curious about and it will show picture and info, This is the Best Fruitstand I know of, been around since 1960.
