I am a chiropractor working in Baltimore area. I was hired as an associate on 4-1-2009 and received green card 0n 12-11-2009. Currently I am in trouble with my boss because I want to resign while my boss wants me to work for 3.5 years as written on the contract. I want to resign due to pain on my wrists( Diagnosed as Moderate Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome by a Nerologist). I 've heard that he is trying to revoke my green card. Can my and my family's green cards be revoked because I broke the employment contract by quitting earlier than written on the employment agreement due to personal reason?(Disease in my case). I've been out of my work(sick leave) for 2 months so far depend upon doctor's(Orthopedic) note for my condition.

What's the correct date? 12-11-2009 or 12-11-2008. You must work for your employer at least six months (after the green card was issued) before find a new job or just resign. The employer cannot revoke your status but you may encounter problems with immigration in the future especially when you want to become naturalized. If you're unable to work for months because of illness, it's better to take leave without pay not to quit, but if you want to breach the contract, consult with the attorney first.
